Yes! Our founder, Marie and our Birmingham choir made national treasure, Carol Vorderman's list of top ten heartwarming moments at this year's Pride of Britain Awards! Thank you Carol.
Remember to tune in to ITV, Thursday 12th October at 8pm to see Marie accept the award for TSB's Community Hero and watch our Birmingham choir sing with the incredible James Arthur.

It’s the night where millions of viewers finally get to watch some of the most courageous, extraordinary and kind-hearted people in Britain being recognised for their incredible work.
The Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards, with TSB, airs tonight on ITV, and while it’s impossible to choose the best bits, host Carol Vorderman has picked out her top 10 moments from the night as it unfolded…

TSB Community Hero Marie Benton was awarded for founding homeless choirs. “Watching Marie’s face when James Arthur came out with her choir, it was just beautiful,” remembers Carol. “You could tell when people came on that she knew them all. It was quite something, that. I got emotional at that because you see it in people’s eyes when you’re that close up.”

Birmingham Festival 23 kicks off in Birmingham

The event got underway on Friday night where Soulful house DJ Echo Juliet and BBC Asian Network’s Bobby Friction built excitement on the square with live VJs ahead of the show.
The event was hosted by award-winning BBC presenter Ayo Akinwolere and DJ and Radio 1Xtra presenter Kaylee Golding, who brought their energy and enthusiasm, guiding everyone through a packed evening. The Festival site on Centenary Square features a big screen where audiences watched newly-commissioned short films, B2022 highlights and messages from a few familiar faces.

Birmingham World: Birmingham Festival 23 announces thrilling opening event for free Commonwealth Games legacy celebration

Brummies are invited to experience Once City A Thousand Memories - the thrilling night of free entertainment which will open Birmingham Festival 23, the 10 day event celebrating the legacy of the Commonwealth Games.
Centenary Square is set to be transformed into a giant open air festival to stage a wealth of talent from across the city and beyond on Friday, July 28. The free entertainment will continue daily until Sunday, August 6 with the full line being announced in coming weeks.

NME: Gaz Coombes teams up with choir involving people impacted by homelessness

Former Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes has released a live version of one of his singles, featuring a choir involving people impacted by homelessness.
Released on Tuesday (July 11), the singer joined forces with The Choir With No Name to record a live version of his single ‘Long Live The Strange’ — taken from his latest solo album ‘Turn The Car Around’.
Formed in 2008, the choir is a UK Charity which provides a safe singing community for those affected by homelessness, and offers support for those who face marginalisation because of their living circumstances.
