I stumbled across CWNN one evening on-line. I saw a YouTube video of the choir performing and I knew I just had to get involved. I waited impatiently on a waiting list to become a volunteer and from my very first rehearsal I was hooked! Thursday nights instantly became my favourite part of the week and I always find myself buzzing after spending the evening and having so much fun with such a fabulous group of people! I’ve always sung, probably before I could talk (ABBA fans out there you know the song!!), but there is something completely magical about singing with others. The energy in the room is indescribable.
My previous professional life was in social housing and homeless services, and when Liz, our amazing choir manager told us she was leaving, I just couldn’t let this opportunity pass me by. I am so absolutely delighted to be the new choir manager. I love my job: the members and volunteers are amazing and I can honestly say this is the place for me!
Witnessing members’ confidence growing over the weeks is something words can't describe. I feel totally privileged to be part of something so important and life changing to so many people.
