Choir with No Name Cardiff

Volunteer Cooks (Lead Role)

Love cooking for people? This is a brilliant, relaxed way to share that.

We’re looking for enthusiastic cooks to help prepare a simple, hearty meal for around 30 people at the end of rehearsal. Think comforting, healthy dishes like cottage pie, simple curries, soups or jacket potatoes with salad. Nothing fancy, just good food made with care.

You’ll be supported by a small team in a friendly, working kitchen, so you’re never doing it alone.

What’s involved:

  • Planning a simple meal

  • Arranging the collection of food supplies and donations

  • Leading a small team to cook and serve. You have 6pm - 8.30pm to cook.

  • Following safer food, better business guidelines (we’ll provide this)

No professional chef experience needed at all. Just confidence in cooking and a willingness to get stuck in.

Good to know:

  • We’ll support you with planning and logistics

  • All food costs are covered

  • Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2 training required (we’ll help with this and it's all done online and takes about 1.5hours to complete)

It’s a really rewarding role if you enjoy cooking and bringing people together over a good meal.

We work in partnership with Welsh homelessness charity The Wallich to support people with experience of homelessness.

We're a super friendly bunch, with a great atmosphere at weekly rehearsals, plenty of socials, lovely gigs at places like Principality Stadium and soon to perform at the Celtic Manor! It's a great way to make new friends and make a difference in your community.

We meet weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6pm at Butetown Community Centre, Loudoun Square, Butetown, Cardiff, CF10 5JA.

Interested? Tell us a bit about yourself and why you’d like to join our community!

If you’d like to volunteer but aren’t interested in the role(s) above, please get in touch and let us know!
