Hannah Dunlop, Choir Director (London)

Growing up in a musical family, I had the joy of always performing - often alongside my sister, brother, and our mum! We sang and competed in local music festivals and as the soloists for choir tours. I went on to study for a Bachelor of Music at the University of Birmingham and spent much of my free time performing lead roles in Guild Drama Society musicals and plays. Whilst at University, I started working professionally with my sister as close-harmony vocal duo, “The Dunlop Sisters”, with a London based Jazz Orchestra and held residencies at The Savoy in London, as well as performing across the UK and Europe for A-list events, music festivals, and appearing on BBC Radio shows. After graduating, I joined the National Youth Theatre and continued acting alongside the friends made there across London’s fringe theatres.

After volunteering in Calais in 2020 working with people experiencing forced displacement, I was motivated to study for a Masters in Humanitarianism, Conflict and Development at the University of Bath and pursue work within the Refugee sector. I’ve had the privilege of facilitating creative workshops with the Babylon Migrants Project, working with Wind Song Theatre Company as Assistant Director on summer youth projects, and as a youth mentor, where I’ve witnessed the magic that unfolds when we feel safe and give ourselves permission to be truly expressive.

I am now a Youth Worker for the Camden Roundhouse and sing with indie-folk trio Late Summer, performing original songs across cosy London venues.

I am so excited to be the Choir Director for the London Choir with No Name – it is the perfect merging of my two passions and the biggest honour to share our love of music together. Working with our wonderful members is a complete joy and I leave every rehearsal uplifted and inspired!
