This Christmas, Cerys Matthews is going to present a BBC Lifeline Appeal on BBC1 on behalf of the Choir with No Name.
The appeal will be broadcast this Sunday 15th December at 4.45pm, and it'll be a 9-minute film all about what our charity does - featuring rehearsal footage and interviews with a current and former choir member, talking about how their lives have turned around.
On Monday, we welcomed Cerys Matthews down to the North London choir's rehearsal along with a BBC film crew, and she got the chance to meet the choir members and hear them belting out 'Walking in a Winter Wonderland'! There are some amazing photos - take a look.
Cerys is a singer-songwriter, author, BBC6 Music presenter and former lead singer of Brit Pop band Catatonia. Earlier this year she published a book promoting the benefits of singing together, stuffed with wonderful sing-along traditional community songs, called 'Hook, Line, and Singer'.
As you know, we do like a bit of communal singing here at the Choir with No Name, which is why we're especially thrilled that she agreed to host our BBC appeal. Thank you, Cerys!
