The choirs work. When Marie set up the first London choir she dreamed of the members and volunteers supporting each other through tough times and coming together to bond over the joys of rehearsal and performance. That happens, all the time. Just ten minutes of a rehearsal is proof enough of how singing really does improve our members’ confidence and skills.
Now we want to harness all the good stuff that goes into our choirs in London and Birmingham, and get it going across the UK! At the Choir with No Name, we have an ultimate vision of a choir in every city that has a problem with homelessness. So this is only the beginning…
Here are just some of the exciting things that we are looking forward to in the next couple of years:
- In the Autumn 2012 we will start up another choir in London to allow us room to reach everyone across the capital
- We'll be starting 1 new choir a year, so aim for 5 in operation by 2015
- We hope to do more recording this year!
Most importantly (and this is a big one) we won't stop having a good old laugh, in rehearsals and at performances. We are an ambitious bunch, and we have high hopes for the future.
